Ajahn Medhavi
Ajahn Medhāvī is a German monk who studied experimental psychology and psycholinguistics at Cambridge University several decades ago. He was ordained as a Theravāda Buddhist monk in 2000, and in the early years practised meditation mainly in the Mahāsi Sayadaw method. Since 2006 he has practised the 16-stage method of Ānāpānasati taught by the Buddha in the Ānāpānasati Sutta and explained in detail by the Venerable Buddhadāsa Bhikkhu. Ajahn Medhāvī led a small Dhamma and meditation centre in Germany from 2007 to 2014, and since 2014 has been based in Myanmar where he is conducting academic research on the Majjhima Nikāya.
